Affiliate disclosure

Short version: some links on this site may earn us money in the future. They never cost you extra, and they never decide what we write.

How our links work

Links to VPN and privacy providers go through short links on our own domain, such as /go/protonvpn. Today these send you to the provider’s homepage. Once we join a provider’s affiliate (partner) programme, the same link may carry a tracking code so the provider can pay us a commission if you buy. The price you pay is the same either way.

All such links carry rel="sponsored" so search engines know they are commercial.

What this means for our content

• Tool results are generated from your connection only. Nobody can pay to change them.
• Providers can’t buy a place in our guides or influence what we say about them.
• We mention providers that don’t pay us (for example, Mullvad, which runs no affiliate programme as far as we know) when they are a good fit for readers.
